The Reunion is Right Around the Corner

Well, it seems that about 30-40 people will be attendance for the 1st Annual Porthouse Family Reunion.  I was hoping for more people, but to tell the truth, this will allow more one on one time with each other and that is a good thing.  We will be bbqing instead of catering which will be great!!  I am very excited to see my cousins which I use to see almost every Sunday while I was growing up.  We would run around their huge house on Robinwood and then after dinner watch the Beatles, Wonderful World of Disney, Elvis Presley on the Ed Sullivan Show or something equally as fun.  I remember when my Grandfather Porthouse was alive and staying at our home or at my Uncle Harry's house and I just loved talking to him and watching him.  Loved that man and my Grandmother.  Very special people in my life.  Can't wait to see all of you.  Have a safe journey and I love you.

Making my reservations

Well, I have received three invitations back that were "undeliverable", which is probably not a bad number since I sent out about 60 invites.  Please let all of your Porthouse relatives know that they are invited to the reunion and then please make sure you contact Bill, MaryLinda or myself with their names.  We will be requesting money from each of the attendees to cover the cost of food, etc., but I believe that it won't be too much.  Any contributions will definitely be appreciated. 

I just contacted the Best Western for my family's reservations which is exciting.  I can't believe it is only 3 months away.  Make sure you make your reservations too, the sooner the better just to make sure they have room at the Inn.  LOL

Invitations Have Been Sent

All of the invitations have been sent out to the addresses that I obtained.  I know there are a lot more Porthouse's out there and if someone you know did not get an invitation, please let me know and I will send one out.  Also, on Facebook there is a "Porthouse Family Reuinion" page.  Please check it out.

They are holding a block of rooms for reserving until May 2nd and at that time they will be opening those rooms up for the general public. So, please make your reservations before May 2nd and make sure you tell them you are with the Porthouse Reunion.

Typos are the worst...

Well, I received the "Save the Date" postcards for mailing and found a typo.  Totally my fault but now vintage in spelled "vintacge".  Terrible.
